Bold Impact Africa participated in a farmers field day held in Maragua, Murang’a County on 24th June, 2021. The farmers’ event was organized by Caritas Murang’a, which is the development arm of the Catholic Diocese of Murang’a. The theme of this event was, improved upper Tana catchment systems that support livelihoods, food security and economic empowerment.
During the event, Bold Impact Africa created awareness on GROW BIOINTENSIVE sustainable agriculture where participating farmers exhibited great interest on being trained on this sustainable farming system. GROW BIOINTENSIVE is a high-yielding, soil-growing, sustainable, small-scale food-farming method that uses only a fraction of the water (saves up to 88%), purchased nutrient (saves up to 100%) and energy (as low as 6%) compared with conventional agriculture. It has a significant positive impact on hunger and poverty among African small-holder farmers and their communities.
The event was attended by other stakeholders including; agrocare, real IPM, agricycle, Elgon Kenya among others
